About Silvia Fasana

My personal experiences have enriched and expanded my understanding of the birthing journey.

Silvia Fasana - Birth Doula in Singapore.

About me

I was born in beautiful Como (Italy) on the 16th of March 1983.

In 2005, I graduated from University of Milano Bicocca in Midwifery and worked as a Midwife for 4 years in both the delivery room and maternity ward.

In 2009 I married Roberto and relocated to Dubai in 2011.

Then in 2021, we moved to Singapore.

I had 6 kids (lost one):

Viola, was born in Italy in 2010, and Rachele was also born in Italy in 2011. Stella was born in Dubai in 2014, followed by Giorgia's birth in Dubai in 2017, and Matilde in Dubai in 2020.

I experienced a baby loss

My 4th baby, Giacomo, was affected by anencephaly, a life limiting condition and he passed away 8 hours after his birth.

Amidst the heart-wrenching pain, we were enveloped in an outpouring of love and support for our baby's brief but meaningful life.

I decided to write about it to try help and support other mums and families in similar situations…

My personal journey captured in a book - Eight Hours of Eternity

After the loss of my baby, I decided to share my profound journey in a book — narrating not only his story, but also the journey of our resilient family.

Since its publication, I have connected with mothers worldwide who have found solace and support in its pages.

I have the privilege of personally experiencing everything I had studied in books, and I want to share them with pregnant women

I decided to come back to work after dedicating many years of my life to my children.

After taking a break from work for a few years, I made the decision to return to studying and obtained certifications as a Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Postpartum Doula, and Lactation Counsellor. I'm currently preparing for the IBCLC consultant exam to further expand my knowledge and expertise.

Since becoming a mother and facing the challenges that come with it, my desire to support women on their incredible journey of motherhood has grown even stronger
